    Default What is it?

I've been fishing this pond for years and last trip there I caught a couple of these and I'm not sure what it is. Redbreast, pumpkinseed, ??? Never caught a Redbreast so if it is one it's a new species for me.Name: IMG_3640.jpg

I’m drawing a blank. I get some colorful fish down here but I’ve never seen one of those.

I've always called them pumpkinseed sunfish, or "punkin-seed" like we say down heah. Sure looks like one to me.

I think it's a hybrid, possibly longear/green sunfish. Wish I would have taken a pic of the first one I caught, it looked just like this one but didn't have the ear lobe.
