Most folks here in Georgia don’t eat 4” Brook trout they catch . Or use them for bait .
Fishing for these tiny fish on artificial lures takes a lot of concentration .
Although I have spoken to one lady who said she had eaten them . Said they had sweet taste .

It’s all about matching the tackle to the fish .

Those are tiny. I once spent a couple of hours catching spots and LMB and smallies, all about that size on a panfish assassin body. Great fun though I didn’t have a light enough rod to really enjoy them. Not the case anymore. Hard to find a 6 lb rig in my boat these days.

Hate to be that guy, but I'm going to be that guy. The general consensus in the microfishing community is that to qualify as a true microfish the fish can't reach a size larger than 8 inches when full grown. So juvenile bluegill or largemouth bass wouldn't be micros. Anyway, I still like seeing the pics of these small fish. If you want to see some true microfishing, take a look at this video. Some cool little true micros in the eastern mosquitofish and variable platyfish as well as some non-micro juvenile convict cichlids.

Thanks Arthur , I did watch and enjoy your videos all the time and understand where you’re coming from . I was one of your few subscribers.
    But , you use bait , I don’t . I use artificial lures only . Either lures or flies I tie .
Using bait to catch shiners doesn’t seem like much of a sport .
Tiny fish , no matter what species, are much more of a challenge to catch on lures . And consistently on tackle matched to the fish .
Any tiny fish is a micro to me .
You have your definition, I can have mine .
Are you just trying to define what you consider is a micro fish or trying to promote your YouTube channel ?

This is what Tenkarabum defines micro fishing .
“ Micro fishing is fishing for small fish, and like any other type of fishing, having the right gear makes it easier and more enjoyable.

It will be about intentionally fishing for and catching small fish, whether they are trout or bass, dace or darters. It will be about fishing that little creek in the town park you've never even thought of fishing before.”

He goes on saying it started in Japan many years ago .

Neither. I'm not trying to define it, others have defined it. You can check some of the main microfishing resources in the US and they'll tell you the same thing I did. You can call it what you want, but that's not what the greater community calls it. Like I said, I like your little fish pictures, but the true microfishing community wouldn't consider that microfishing. Below are some resources that mention what is considered a microfish, bluegill and bass aren't it. Enjoy your fishing and have a good day. Bye.

Depends on where you search and who you want to follow . You made sure you left a link to your YouTube channel. You could have just commented.
You can call yours what you want and I’ll call my little catches what I want .
Im afraid you’re coming off as a troll .
Everybody here at Crappie.com have accepted my micro fish . I’m not interested in what any so called organization created to ostracize what others want to call their small catches .
I don’t want to join any group or organization nor do I want my catches recognized , except here .

If they grew to largemouth size , you’d need saltwater tackle to land one !
Georgia State record is 1#7oz .
IGFA record is 2#2oz. Caught in Missouri.
