The general consensus in the microfishing community is that to qualify as a true microfish the fish can't reach a size larger than 8 inches when full grown. So juvenile bluegill or largemouth bass wouldn't be micros. Anyway, I still like seeing the pics of these small fish. If you want to see some true microfishing, take a look at this video. Some cool little true micros in the eastern mosquitofish and variable platyfish as well as some non-micro juvenile convict cichlids.
Thanks Arthur , I did watch and enjoy your videos all the time and understand where you’re coming from . I was one of your few subscribers.
But , you use bait , I don’t . I use artificial lures only . Either lures or flies I tie .
Using bait to catch shiners doesn’t seem like much of a sport .
Tiny fish , no matter what species, are much more of a challenge to catch on lures . And consistently on tackle matched to the fish .
Any tiny fish is a micro to me .
You have your definition, I can have mine .
Are you just trying to define what you consider is a micro fish or trying to promote your YouTube channel ?
This is what Tenkarabum defines micro fishing .
“ Micro fishing is fishing for small fish, and like any other type of fishing, having the right gear makes it easier and more enjoyable.
It will be about intentionally fishing for and catching small fish, whether they are trout or bass, dace or darters. It will be about fishing that little creek in the town park you've never even thought of fishing before.”
He goes on saying it started in Japan many years ago .
