    Default Don't be shy!

One things for sure, these creek panfish ain't shy about smackin a bait. Started off with a nice Smallie and then hit my very first creek Green Sunfish up against some weeds on the far bank. Have caught a few Rock Bass here before, and don't you know the next fish is a nice little Rock Bass. Both hit that bait like they meant it and really glad to hit two panfish cause they are not as common as say the Smallies. Caught another Smallie and then fished a section that I normally do real well, but couldn't buy a hit today even after trying several different baits. Decided to fish a area downstream on the way out that looked kind of promising. There's this little whirlpool area right where a storm drain empties into the creek. They must have been stacked up in there, cause I took five Smallies out of that spot as fast as I could land them and get my bait back in there. Good fights as they would head downstream and the current was pretty fast here, and your fighting the fish and the water. The last two pics are 2 of the nicer ones that came out of that little area. Sounds like you had a great creek day !
Love the coloration on those last two .
I’ve been bitten by the bass bug , I’ve got to where I spend the first thirty minutes throwing a woolybooger, looking for them .

Some great fish that I would love the chance to fish for. I’ll bet they were something to remember. Thanks for the ride along.

Looks fun, it’s nice to have small creeks close to fish, lots of people don’t know how good of fishing those small creeks are, they say too much trouble to get in and out.

    kevk,
On spinners and spoons I use either:
    Owner C'ultiva S-21 Size #8 or
Gamakatsu Open eye Siwash Size #10
Both are very sharp Japanese replacement hooks. C'ultiva's are a thinner wire and I use with very thin mini stinger style plastics. Gamakatsu's are thicker and a very strong hook. I use these sizes as I mostly target panfish. Thanks.
