    Default Mixed catch

Met up with my fishing uddy for our weekly UL Flyfishing adventure at West Point lake .
We fished a couple of ramps that had produced for us before .
It was supposed to be cloudy all morning, but the sun came out and made it steamy hot .
Although I took four rods with me , I mainly fished with my 5’9” 1wt. Butterstick and my 6’ 2wt St Croix Mojo Trout.
Size 14 rubber legged spiders were the fly most of the day .
I caught 49 fish landed and my friend landed 26 .
No big ones were caught today , my two biggest flopped down the concrete ramp back into the lake as I was trying to take a picture of them .
    I did catch a variety.
Bluegills, spotted sunfish , green sunfish and this week two new species I’m not really sure what they are .
One is some kind of bass , the other a shiner of some kind .
A few of the green sunfish were spectacular in color today .

I think the shiner is probably a spotted shiner , but I can’t find a yearling bass picture with a tail like this one .

Loved that little bass, gill. They do have an attitude, and man those little ones can jump and air mail back a fly quick as you please!

You’re absolutely right about the little bass . This was my second I caught . The other one was twice this little fellows size but came unhooked , flopped on the ramp , right back from where he came .
