    Default Creek trip

I made it to the creek this morning.
The water level was lower than last visit . If it gets much lower , there won’t be anything left in to catch .
I took two flyrods, my 7’ 3wt Diamondback Glass and my 6’6” 2wt Moonlit Lunar .
Up first was the Diamondback . I continue to try to like this rod , but there’s something about it that just doesn’t click for me . Shame , as much as I paid for it .
After catching one small redbreast on the DB , I switched over to the Moonlit .
Like night and day . Although not as sweet as some of my other rods , it was way ahead of the game compared to the DB . Lighter and easier to cast .
I usually stick to the water just above the bend in the creek because it’s shaded . But the water was two thin to hold much .
So I got brave and walked out on the rock below the dam . The pool just below the dam held fish and I caught eight more , mostly on a simple dry fly of micro chenille and barred hackle on a size 14 hook and a junebug sinking spider .
Catching them on top is fun .

Look at the tail on this little fish . He’s made for swimming the current.

Very nice, gill. My little creek is about as low as yours, but water clarity is better. Slow but steady, I should have been out earlier.

Fish on a bugwand, it doesn't get much better in my opinion.
