Prong tail grubs are not equal in my opinion especially if the prong tail is too short and thick. I have a bunch of a certain design that's been colllecting dust for a few decades but as usual when it come to inspirations, you never know when one or more will pop up. These were made by fusing the shortened bodies of two together.
The action when wacky rigged with a 1/24 oz jig produced an incredible tight vibration either on the drop or using a horizontal retrieve! Fished that missed the first time were caught on the second or even third cast.
Guess I'll be making a dozen more today!

Neat looking bait !

Mine neither when talking single tail grubs.
But the lure design mentioned above that has shorter, slightly thicker tails (or legs) plus the flattened side of the body that make all the difference in action than when I use this one that has thinner, longer tails and a round body:
Both catch fish all of the time but for reasons related to lure action and how used.
Interesting though is that the flat side of the body has better action and more vibration when rigged away from the hook bend/ towards the rod regardless the type of retrieve - especially on the free fall.

It is a very interesting setup. How do you join the 2 baits? Crazy Glue?
Light a candle, hold each end over it for a second, alighn and center. A battery powered soldering gun seals the seam all the way around preventing cracks in the plastic.
You'd be amazed at the various shapes, sizes and actions old soft plastic lures are capable of and therefore of value after years of sitting around in storage.
