    Default 'Chubby' lures worked good

I've been messing around with soft plastics recently as everyone knows and I decided to dip some lures in hot liquid plastic to thicken them. One lure design it seems to have improved is the curl tail.

    Another is the straight tail:

It seems the bulkier lure gets more strikes than the original size. Now I have much more confidence in curl tails than before. 71 fish yesterday under a bright sun was convincing enough.

    Pumpkinseed.
Lately I've found pumpkinseeds in schools - the last fish I'd expect to be caught one after the other.Man were they aggressive ! - hitting lures five times on the retrieve/ missing getting hooked and getting hooked on the 2d or 3rd retrieve!

The other thing I noticed for sunfish in general: the longer you had them out of the water (like to take photos), the more the colors faded. The bluegill I caught had bright orange bellies and bright colors when caught. After 30 seconds, colors faded and darkened.
