Nice. I love finding a spot where they bite good. Awesome pics.
With all the heat we have been having I just did not want to fool with putting the boat in somewhere…yet I wanted to fish and have good probability of catching fish. Decided to bank fish off the dam at Laurel Hill Lake…turned out to be a good decision. Fished this spot a lot over the years in the summer. Stayed way too long in the heat but brought 100 bluegill to hand…the vast majority 8-8.5 inch fish. Used 3 colors Trout Magnet…Root Beer Float…..Bison, and Sow Bug…Daiwa Gekkabijin 1.5 gram jig head #8 hook. Rod used was Major Craft Fine Tail Banshee 6 foot Super Ultra Light strung up with 2.3# test Ester line. Pretty neat to stay in one place and not move and be on fish all day. This is not a bedding area..the fish move there after spawn and hang out there all summer in about 7-10 feet of water. Notice the beautiful colors on these fish. Life is good!

Good looking fish, it is so dang hot right now with the humidity factored in. That lake seems to be coming back healthy for the bluegill.

Some good looking fish . Congrat on having a great day bank fishing .
I’m getting to where I’m enjoying bank fishing over boat fishing . A lot less hassle.
Most of my trips are less than two hours , so it’d be too much trouble to drag out the boat .

Some nice ones. Wish I could find someplace to bank fish here but everything is so overgrown and things hide in there. Good way to keep after em Randy.

Wow, that's a lot of bream! I'd be happy with a quarter of that many in a day. I'll be looking for a spot like that on my lake.

Nice, Randy.
The county guys that run the local res I fish most have been making strong efforts to improve the fishery, and the bream. They have a total of 5 feeders set up, and they throw the feed out in the warm months, but not during fishing hours ( 8 - 8 in summer). The lake is always full at a stable depth, except for rarely when they drop it to work on infrastructure. I am very happy with the size and quality of the fish, no complaints there, but rarely get into good numbers unless on a bed in spawn a few times a year. The corps lakes are too full of hair-on-fire zoomies during summer, so I avoid the big reservoirs except for daylight until 10 AM or so, when most crazies are sleeping it off.
