    Default Bream attracted to...what?

Hey again from the rookie of all fishin guys. I know some fish are attracted to sound, scent, sight or provoked to attack by a flashy lure, but what really gets a big ole bream's attention? Should I go chartruce, smelly, loud or what? Shrimp on a jig? Mini-Strike King Spinner? Beetle Spin?

Man, too much time thinkin and not enough time fishin.
I know you need practice to make perfect but just trying to perfect an idea on it all first...

    Exactly.

As I said in the other thread, almost any small jig or fly will take bluegill. For now, just pick one and get it near some fish. A beetle spin is a good choice.

I think it's very hard to beat live bait, though. I use it most of the time. If presented properly (small hooks, light line), there are no negative cues to scare the fish.

My fave bait for kids and bream fishin is corn. Just pick up a can of kernel corn at the grocery and some small snelled hooks. Tie the snell on and put your bobber @ ft up from the tied area and cover the hook with a kernel. Cast gently and wait to get tugged. It's clean fun for everyone. Waxies and Mealies are good baits too. They're available at most pet stores (petsmart) for @ $3 a carton. Good luck and have fun!

You fish for kids? I'm tellin'!

Corn is probably the best cheap bait out there. This past Saturday, I fished for four hours in the morning. I had a mixed bag of over forty fish. I had mostly gills, but also had four carp, four catfish and a few big shiners -- all taken on corn.

Chartreuse and wax worms will get you bit and fill your bucket pretty quick.

That's the great thing about Bream, they will hit most anything. I have used dry flies that were for trout for years with a split shot to catch them. Earth worms from my child hood and crickets. The foam ants I tie now, just almost anything.

    Really just try something!

I usually use crickets, red worms, or whatever bug I can find. My dad and I used to go around the courthouse in my hometown and catch these awful black roaches. Bream would devour those things. Nasty little bugs though.
