Default Busy Saturday at the Pond

I figured they’d be a few folks out today , with it being Saturday before Memorial Day .
    And it was busy .
The track around the park and lake looked like a parade with walkers .
The geese were out in full force too. I counted over thirty and quit counting. Out looking for a free handout .
I got there around 9:40 and started fishing the shallower end with float n fly . A 1/64 jig I tied up yesterday after getting home from yesterday’s visit .
It turned out a little big for what I usually use , but thought I’d give it a try .
On my second cast I caught a nice one , that had my 5’ St Croix Premier ULM rod bending to the grip . Sweet !
The new tie proved to be a one shot wonder and after over 30 minutes , I gave up on it and swapped out for something smaller . I managed to catch three smaller ones in the next hour before I couldn’t take the crowd and headed home .
Happy Memorial Day Weekend everybody, and thank a Veteran!
