Default Riding the storm out .

I woke up to thunderstorms this morning, after an all night rain .
Around 10 am , I noticed the rain had stopped . It was supposed to rain all day .
I grabbed my five foot 13 Fishing Defy Silver rod paired with a Carbon X 1000 reel and 2# line , and took off to the town pond .
The water was up , of course. Over a foot . Actually it was at what used to be full pool before the town adjusted the drainage to keep it lower .
I was ready to fish a Trout magnet , but after a couple of color changes , couldn’t get bit .
Switched to a shortened Slider in smoke glitter with a dyed chartreuse tail and caught a little bass . Better than a skunk , I was thinking .
A few casts later I picked up my first gill.
I then hooked a nice couple of pound LM that gave me some fun with a couple nice leaps , before just coming unhooked near the bank .
Would up switching to a pumpkin Slider with chartreuse tail , then a Bobby garland itty bitty slab Hunter, coppernose with a dyed chartreuse tail to catch seven gills total before the wind and threat of another thunderstorm ran me home .
    Nice hour and half .

Nice little setup, those slow starts can change pretty quickly.

Glad you got out and got a few. I went to the coast Last Sunday morning and drew a blank so you did better than I have lately.
