Don't get much better than those two paired up for panfish. Nice looking fish too!

Very nice. I’ve got an old 309 put up some where. It needs a complete rebuild. Had it on a Eagle Claw feather weight. Don’t know where that rod got of to. Tons of fish were caught with that setup.

I remember them, just couldn’t afford them at the time. I found my Silaflex at a flea market for cheap. Had a fenwick too but do t know where it got off to.
The Conolon is very cool and in great shape.

You can find old school fiberglass rods on eBay. I have several. This Garcia is a beauty and a finesse/ultralight delight. It's only 5 feet long and balances perfectly with the Mitchell 309. It's two-piece, so it would pack nicely for hiking into streams. and rivers. Anyone who had this sort of setup in the early/mid-60s was living large!

    Pretty fish !
Wish St Croix would make a replica ultralight glass rod .
I’d go for one made out of the newer S glass .
