More, ahem, testing today. Shellcracker females still full of eggs, but more bluegill seem to be moving onto beds, I can see them on sonar, and the big bulls are biting, and need to "go", if you give them a little squeeze. Today was very windy, so I looked for beds in a new part of the lake where wind was sheltered, and found a few. Kept a couple bull males for my supper, released all else, including a bunch of shorties.

Some very nice looking fish there! They looked big enough to fill the pan!

Got shipping notice from Digitaka that my new top half is on the way. I'll set it aside and continue to use the repaired rod. Right now the dollar to yen rate is pretty favorable: I found another slow taper special 6'7" SUL in stock (thanks to member zekepa for the heads up), and bought it. I also ordered another Daiwa 21 Presso 1000S-P to put on it. I used my accrued points from Digitaka and got the reel for just over 3 bills. I have no will power, none.
Headed back to the lake as soon as my batteries charge up - forgot to hook up the extension cord after filleting fish yesterday. Fish tacos tonight!

Glad to hear your repair passed the trial by fire. And boatlifting! I’m impressed. Those are some gooduns where I come from.

And I’ll take two of those tacos please.
