Nice colors on those gills. Thanks for sharing
I made my daily trip up to the pond this morning.
I keep trying different combos , line weight , lures , etc.
Today it was my 5’ Rosewood Ultralight rod paired with my Shimano Ultegra 2000S , spooled with 4# P-line fluorescent green line with a 4# P-line Fluorocarbon leader .
I started off fishing a sow bug Trout Magnet with a 1/32 jig . Casting distance was great . I see no problem going back to 4# line as my go to line as long as I use a 1/32 jig . Which is a little less than 1g.
I wasn’t having any luck with the sow bug or with a bison TM , so I switched to a Bobby Garland Itty Bitty slab Hunter in bright white with the tail dyed chartreuse.
It wasn’t until I got a tangle and the lure sank to the bottom while I was untangling my line , that I caught my first fish .
That told me I needed to fish closer to the bottom.
I switched over to a drop shot rig with a 1/80 jighead and a Bobby Garland Itty Bitty swimmer in monkey milk with a dyed tail . That seemed to be the method of the day , but the size of the fish I caught today were on the small size.
Later I went to a Cajun cricket Bobby garland itty bitty swimmer. And caught a few more.
Mostly small fish today but the colors made up for their size.
Having trouble with the Ultegra binding on the bottom stroke .
I’ve been sitting around winding it trying to loosen it up .
Nice colors on those gills. Thanks for sharing
