Skip,
I would like to try this on bream to see what they would do... Looks good to me... I have used your Crappie Jigs & they are great...
Ok this is the first High-Viz Ant I ever tied and I can see things that can be better for sure and I have got to get faster with this, but what do you people think? I know that the legs need trimming a lttle more.
Will the bream eat this thing up or what?
This is a #10 hook to relate to size...

I just want to offer some other things to give my customers and full range of things. I am even going to carry a few colors of soft plastics soon.
Thanks again,

I can give you one of my favorites. I have been tying flies for bream for about 15 years and this is one of the best ones I have found. Size 10 or 12 long shank hook, dry fly or nymph hook it doesnt matter. Two rubber legs chartruese on the back and black/yellow verigated chenille and then two rubber legs tide above the eye of the hook. I have had great success with this fly in these colors after experimenting with lots of colors. You can even tie that same fly on a 1/80-1/100 jig head and have good luck out of it on fish in deeper water. Those are the only two flies that I carry with me when fishing for bream, one covers deep water and one covers shallow. Its a refined system that has worked for me for a few years. We are still catching a few redear and bream on beds here in ARkansas. Caught 17 redear last week and 21 bream on the fly without the jig head.
Hey skip... keep working on the ant, you'll get it. I have a question... what type of hook is that you're using on your jigs? Is it one you bend yourself, we don't see that kind up here in Northeast LA... are they good ones?
BTW... my prayers are with you and your son... I have a nephew in Afghanistan since January... I pray everyday he comes home all in one piece. The boy is like a son to me, so I worry about him! But I'm also proud... I just wish they'd let our boys git er done and come on home!

If fishing was a job, I'd be a stone-cold workaholic!!
Oh wow I am so sorry about not getting back sooner to you, but things have been hectic. They hooks at called Sickle hooks and I do not bend them. They are made by a company named Matuzo. I like them quite a bit because I think they get better hookups and they come sharp unlike so many others.Originally Posted by FISHAKING
