    Default Hello panny pros ....

help me out with a question , not trying to start anything just wondering about something .
once heard someone mention the male bluegills with heavy "purple" spring fling colors were likely "coppernose" or coppernose crosses , is there any truth to that statement is my question ?
I see it in some spots and yet at others never , so what is the deal please .....

TN does not have copper nose in public waters. I do have access to a private lake and have caught a ton of them. They come in every color imaginable. We have one TWRA lake that has copper nose mixed with northern strain bluegill. All the copper nose I have caught....the pure ones and the mixed strain...all have the colored band across the forehead. I go by that band.....I have caught a ton of northern strain bluegill that are purple....so I don't think that is a true indicator of a copper nose.

    Regards

I don't know where you are fishing but the gills you caught in your other post look like pure stain, hybrid/copper nose and one looks like a pure strain coppernose. Really nice variety and some really nice ones at that.
