Default Got to have faith .

With rain coming in this afternoon along with a cold front , I headed to the Town pond for a couple hours.
It was partly sunny and around fifty degrees when I got there and the wind was already gusting .
I came prepared, somewhat , with some 1/32nd jigs I tied up to fish with a Trout Magnet .
I was using my new 6’1” one piece Daiwa Procyon UL with a Kastking Finesse 1000 reel loaded with 4# green fluorescent line with a 4# Flouroclear leader .
With the 1/32nd jig , if I timed my cast , I was getting nice distance.
Fished the “heavy” jig for over 30 minutes without a nibble .
I was hoping for at least a little LM .
I switched over to a jig spinner with a 1/32 jig and Trout magnet and just when I was about to give up and go home , I caught a little bass .
I used the 1/32 jig with some plastic worm pieces I’d bought to make a Ned rig of sorts , hoping to improve the bass bites .
    Didn’t work .
Last resort , I tied on one of my old faithful 1/80th black woolybooger jigs and attached a little 3/4” weighted styrofoam float about 3’ above it .
First cast , I just let it soak , letting the wind ripples work the tiny jig . The tiny orange float just slowly disappeared . Pulling back on the Procyon set the hook on a nine incher .
In the next 15-20 minutes I hooked three more and landed two of them , a solid 8 1/2 incher , and one almost 9 3/4” .
The one I lost , the hook pulled out with me putting pressure on it as it tried to go around the bridge post .
Just needed to put my faith into something that had worked before.

    Oh yeah , I forgot .
Love the new rod . Very sensitive, fast action , with a solid tip .
I liked the 5’6” version of this rod but like the 6’1” better .
Great rod for throwing light jigs .
