    Default Elusive!


    Those dang gills eluded me today. The only thing I could coax to hit a spoon were a few small LMB and one decent crappie. With the water being so cold I figured slowing things down a bit might help. Tried a Gulp minnow on a jig head 6' under a Thill mini shy bite float, which resulted in another small LMB. Usually works on those cold water gills but not today. Here's some pics., sorry, no gills!Name:  DSC01467.jpg

    I was hoping for a crappie or two today and gills were all I could find .
    I’m happy with any I catch this time of the year .

    Nice catches ! For what it's worth, I have the best luck slowly dragging the bottom this time of year for Gills, they can be shallow or deep.
