Default One Gill , a few bass

My fishing buddy and I fished a different lake today and still can’t catch any gills .
I caught one small bluegill , hooked several tiny LM that threw the jig every time, a couple of small bass , and one nice one around 3 lbs that gave my 6’ St Croix Panfish rod a workout.
I love catching them this size on an ultralight spinner .
The ramp at the reservoir was super shallow which made launching and especially loading my little 14x36 Alumacraft a pain .
Red wasps were swarming the dock . Luckily neither of use got stung .
    I won’t be going back .
Except for the lack of fish , it was a beautiful day on the lake , and I enjoyed casting jigs around on my Ultralights.

Pretty looking piece of water. Yeah, I hate to get the smallies returning my lures via airmail, but it sure gets the heart going!

It was a beautiful day on the water .
The bass saved the day .
We’ve fished three different lakes now and I’m stumped as to where the gills are .
I have an 10 year old inexpensive fish finder ( actually has gps and temp too ) that has a fish alarm that I keep on at all times .
When I was regularly fishing before Covid , I sometimes had to turn the alarm off because it became annoying it beeped so much .
Now , I hear a beep less than ten times the entire time time out on the water . This is running the banks , running the creek channels , and even running over deep holes . A single beep only occasionally.
Where have all the fish gone ?
Have all of my waters been that overfished ?
Or is it the time of the year ?
I’ve been fishing most of my 70+ years and always thought fall was a great time to be on the water . I used to prefer it over spring.
BTW , water temp yesterday hovered around 70 degrees yesterday, which should be perfect for the fish .
I may have to switch over to focusing on bass , which seems to be the only thing that wants to cooperate.

I just really loathe them big red wasps , will just sting the fire out a ya for no apparent reason , that poor attitude is just not a good thing .
one buzzed my head the other day and it was his last day to do that bad attitude kinda stuff ...
