Default Late Summer Gills in Pa.

Fished a lake Friday for about 5 hours. After 4 hours had past and only having connected with 3 fish it was sorta disappointing. Tied on a small ponyhead jig with a 1 1/4" chartreuse sparkle curly tail and ran it close to shore just to check its action. With that lower spinner goin & that tail slowly fluttering it sure looked inviting. Didn't exactly knock em dead, but within the next 45 minutes had 3 nice ones slam that lure. Sure felt alot better ending the day like that. Thanks for lookin!Name: DSC01176.jpg

Nice catches, MR. With the drenching we got from Henri here in SE PA, the water will not be good here for a few days. Tough fishing for sure.

After reading Spoonminnow's reply to a previous post of mine on adaptable plastics, I will add this. Having to walk into some of the lakes being fished, I try to take in small amounts of a variety of baits. Here is a pic of the adaptable plastics that I typically carry in. With a few different styles of jig heads, hooks, spinners & spoons there are quite a few presentations available to use. The cases are only 4"x7"x1" each so really everything shown there is just a handful.Name: DSC01198.jpg

Some real nice fish. Fish down my way are runnin from the heat. Plus the river is up due to our rainy season and has flooded the woods opening the buffet doors. I like the rock platform for you to stand on. Makes for a good pic background.

moonrunner, is that a DAM reel the first couple pictures? I used one of these old German made reels long long time ago when was chasing striped bass and barred surf perch in California and it was a work horse. Nice catches!
