Default My Biggest Bluegill This Summer

Caught this slab of a bluegill the other day, and this thang had some shoulders! 9.6 inches (didn't get a weight). I know they get bigger, especially in trophy ponds but this is just a normal lake, not managed for panfish or anything. This guy wasn't that long, but he was THICK and had a huge mouth for gill! Very dark coloring too. Potential Hybrid? Cool fish either way... caught on a drop shot finesse worm.

what a whopper , quite possibly some form of hybridized situation , mouth looks rather robust for pure gill .
blackened sunfish right out of the water , good stuff

That was a monster. Right up there with a LP Ledhed special from the old days. Nice catch!
