    Default 6'6" Okuma Celio Rod

i was at Dick's looking for a 6'6" Okuma Celio Rod, they have the Okuma Stratus in the 6'6" curious if anyone has compared these 2 rods.

The 6’6” rod is listed as “medium” action. For casting light jigs, I much prefer light or UL action.

Get the TCB from BnM or a Microlite from Bass Pro.

Definitely don't want a medium action for cast jigs.

    I have a 6’6” Okuma celio u/l , also a 7’ and an 8’6” celio u/l.
I havent compared them with others Okumas however.
They are a pretty nice rod considering the cost.
I bought all mine on Ebay.
Unfortunately i broke the tip on my 6’6” early on, and needed to replace the entire rod, so i now have a new butt section only with a hanging tag.
The 8’6” had become a favorite for single pole jigging, but just a tad light for getting them into the boat without a net.
The ACC 8’ seems to do it all in that regard, and like the BnM rods tip sections can be bought seperately.

I have 2 of the 6'6" celilio in ul . Run the small Pfleuger Trions on them with 2lb trout sos. Use them strictly for gills no complaints. Had 3 but busted off about 3" of rip on one(my fault not rod defect) price is right and I like them

I used to have the Celilo 6'6" ultralight. Great rod of the money. One item to note is at least the one I owned was a moderate action. It wasn't nearly as fast a tip as some other ultralights. But for light crankbaits and spinners it was a lot of rod for the money.

I have looked at the Stratus but only owned the Stratus reel, not the rod. I wasn't particularly impressed with the Stratus rods feel, but since I didn't purchase it I haven't fished it.

Last time I checked, my local Sportsmans Warehouse stocked the Celilo.

I have 2 of the 7 foot rods one lite and 1 ul. I have used them a lot. Even shot docks with them for a spell. That is pretty rough and demanding on a rod.

I second the PB Microlite as well. Although I haven't been in Pro Bass in about a year i'm thinking of ordering there AirStream PTC, just hope they have it in UL or L.

I bought a Lews hypersonic light action 7 foot a few weeks ago and have been very pleased with it casting 1/64 and 1/32 jigs. No split shot just the jig.
