Nice setup, MR, and enjoyed your post. Carp are pretty smart fish and the big ones can be a challenge.

Spent the past few weeks sitting in that lawn chair waiting for the next carp to pick up the bait and go screaming outta there. As I was sitting there, I was wondering how the gills were hitting. Decided to switch gears Friday & grab the ultralights. Had a couple of hours of real good action before the bite slowed around 2 PM. Used a small Swiss swing spinner with a split tail grub trailer, 1/2 Creme angle worm crawled about a foot behing a BB splitshot, & the last two fish hit a bream killer tied onto the rear hook of a Rapala ultra light pop. Was kind of surprised that's what that crappie grabbed. Great time had by switchin gears today. Thanks for lookin!

That was a good trip. Good variety and the carp are brutes! I hung one under a scale (foul hooked) and he was big. Love the fight but that’s all I’ve ever heard of them being good for.

Hit a smaller lake today at around noon & fished till 3pm. Bite was slow and most fish caught took a chartreuse tube swam on a 1/80th jig head. Couldn't connect on a Bluegill until I switched to a popper right before heading out and managed two decent ones. Thanks for lookin!
