The fish have all but disappeared. I started about 8 this morning and blanked my first spot. Very unusual, always good for one or two. Second was slow with the jig, and another jig, and finally went to the beetle spin. It got bumped a few times which was encouraging, but no takers for about 15 minutes. I was about to go, real disappointed at the way things were going, and I dropped the spin on the back edge by the weeds, and it went thump. Leaned back on the rod and it just went right, I couldn’t get it to come my way. A real good pull and just lucky he didn’t get up in the weeds and junk, and he started coming my way. Let him do his thing a little in the open water and timed it just right and he was in the boat. A very good fish and an answer to a little prayer I had made, asking for just a fish or two to brighten my day. And yes, I took a few seconds to say Thank You. A beautiful fish on a day they were scarce. A few pics and back in the pool he went, none the worse for it all. A nice redbreast and a couple of 7” gills was all I could muster, and about 11 o’clock I put the rods down and went home for a sammich and some grass mowing duties. Hope y’all got out and got a few, maybe I’ll see you out next time. Wave hello and until then……. Skeet

Very nice and sure glad you could get out for a few hours. Hard to tell sometimes why they are off the feed. We have a brutal hot spell (well, by our standards) the next couple of days so I’m going to try an early morning wade on the creek. It might be good or…..Just to get out for a few hours is worth it.
