Default Hot day but good fish'n!

Who says you have to be on the water early or late to catch fish?63 fish caught under a bright sunny sky and 88 degrees.
One local lake I hadn't fished for over 10 years but decided it was time to try relearning it. The more I know about a water the better I become fishing it. Now
I've got to admit it: I'm a finesse fisherman and go for numbers of fish and different species using different lure designs and sizes. Just because I or anyone else casts small lures doesn't mean only small fish bite them. One bass went 1 3/4 lbs. and another close to 2:

Crappie - many of which were 11-12" struck the same lures as sunfish, yellow perch, white perch and bass. Catching fish on a day like today from 9 am-3:30 pm was a learning experience considering the fact that fish hit hard regardless the hour! I wasn't disappointed by:
    1. the quality or quantity of fish caught
    2. the number of species caught
    3. the variety of lure designs that caught everything.

Lure examples and the fish they caught:
Spike tail on a different body:

Overhead spinner and French Fry segment with curl tail added:

    ...same grub by itself:

    Float with soft plastic:

Thin flat tail grub right from the mold:

Caught this 11" and 5 more 12" crappie in one section of pads:

No-tail grubs have done very well this year and yesterday:

Kut Tail worm rigged on light jig head:

Species variety/ lure variety/ presentation variety* make for one heck of a day, especially when the numbers were unexpected especially at these times:

    *presentations that caught fish:
flipping/pitching, steady retrieve using spinner, rod twitched grub retrieve, bobber with soft plastic, jigging off bottom, jerk worm-with-pauses retrieve

I said that one goal was to relearn the lake, but one successful day doesn't guarantee more like it or that fish will be in the same locations. Next week (if it isn't too hot). Note to self: bring more than one small bottle of water!!

I'll see if it continues this week with air and water temperatures much cooler.

You may not get another day like that for a while, Spoon. That was a good story for sure. Everything worked. That bass must have been sorely tempted by that kut tail. Those days are like magic and make you come back for more!

Thanks guys! I love sharing with fellow fish'n fanatics and those never too experienced to pick up a few useful bits of information. But one thing I'm sure we all share are unexpected surprises that have us say'n - well I'll be!
