    Default Small But Feisty

Had about 30 minutes after work and before the big T-storms rolled in to get on a few. All of them were pretty small but put up a nice fight on the Ace Hawk CU Double rod paired with the Abu Garcia BFS reel spooled up with 6# Diawa J-Braid. The bass really put a bend in the ultralight baitcaster set up!

And a nice crappie there too. Are those from the lake by your house?

This was from a lake about 10 miles from my house. I hope to hit my back yard lake this weekend (assuming it stops raining).

Sounds like my days this season! Last trip out was my best of the year so maybe things are turning a little. High, dirty water and falling, not my strong suit but I found a 150 section of the creek and they were hungry and willing.

A good trip. I’ll bet the bass was a good fight.

The bass pulled some drag and gave the rod a serious work out. Fortunately, on that rip rap there is no other cover for them to get entangled, so I can work them slowly until they're ready to be pulled out.

Hit the back yard pond this evening and found a few. A nice range of colors on these.
