Good fishing there.
So far this year has been off the charts good for me for fishing…and everything else really. The spinal surgery I had back in November allowed me to hit the water more often….not to mention being able to trout fish more in 2021 than I have over the last 5 years…if not more. Today I had the best fishing day I have ever experienced with panfish. I found a massive bed of shell cracker….the overwhelming majority 10 inches or better with some 11 inch fish in the mix. When I pulled off the bed I had boated 93 shell cracker! It only took a little less than 4 hours to do it. I stayed spot locked in the same place the whole time. Not another boat in sight. These fish were out in the middle of a big bay….not in a pocket or next to the bank. I learned to look out in open water years ago with the si unit when I found a big bed of bluegill in open water at Laurel Hill. Once again I used the Abu Garcia Diplomat Extreme 6’ 2” UL Area Trout Rod strung up with 1.8# test polyester line. The lure of the day…is there anything else….LOL….a Bison colored Trout Magnet on a 1.5 gram jig head with a #8 hook. Life is most assuredly good!

Good fishing there.
Day to remember there.
Beautiful fish and what a day you had. Actually, out of all your news the most important one was that the spinal surgery was a success and you now have the mobility to wade fish and fish a long session without pain. The fish were certainly a super bonus. Fish on!

Good way to end up with a big smile and sore arms
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Congratulations on your best day ever.
Some studs in those pics, glad you found em. I go look again Saturday.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
Congrats on a great !
question for ya Randy ! Do the fish that’s caught off a bed normally go back to that bed where caught if so how soon?
or do the go somewhere else ! I always thought they go back to the bed but now I’m wondering if they normally do!
I Have caught loads of fish this last week and has been all catch and release but I checked a couple of those spots today and very few fish if any back in them ? Didn’t know if the cooler nights affected them or if they move once caught ? Thanks

Fantastic day, Randy! I'm smiling for you, my friend. It is interesting that they set up shop in the middle of a bay...very interesting.
That's awesome. I found a huge bed the other day with sonar. I figure it is over 100 yards long! I am actually going to measure it, my mapping tool has been wonky lately.
