Thread: Weedless trout magnet

I have been making my own weedless jigs following Richard Gene the Fishing Machine's youtube video. I use 50 lb flouro for the weed guard, and tie it on with (unwaxed) dental floss and super glue like he does, but I use my tying vise to hold the hook while tying. These work great when crappie are tight to the standing timber - I'm not losing jigs in the trees anymore, or rarely, but I'm not sure about weeds - seems the head will still pick up some weeds. I use these mostly with BGBS or similar plastics.

Yeah, those look good. I'll find the tutorial and try those out. The hook is what's catching the lilypad stems, so I think that a weed guard like that should work. Thanks!
