A lot of people use a reel with to fast a gear ratio. Fishing slow with a reel that you can’t speed up is easier than fishing a fast retrieve reel that as your excitement level rises you start cranking that reel handle that really speeds up the lure.

Again, thanks for some good technique ideas. That was some “fishy looking” water in your photo. My creek is still pretty slow and it is tough for me to get to other water, so I’ll just keep working what I have. The nights have been relatively warmer here in SE PA, and tomorrow is promising 70!

Why does it look like a lot of those fish were snagged.

I think he’s displaying the lure used. Maybe he had to pull it from the depths and snag a few of them so we could see what he used.

    Just my opinion.

BINGO ! I Could display the lure all the way in a fish's mouth but would be the point ? I reattach the lures in plain sight so everyone can see the various designs and hopefully imagine each's action.

Never have snagged a fish in my life. Maybe catchNgrease can give us some tips - especially how to snag fish in the lip or just outside it.
Not that I would. It's just so much easier catching fish the usual way.
