Default First Gill of the Year

Been catching some crappie and bass but NO bluegills until yesterday. Felt good to get one on the line.

Congrats. The second has some pretty colors. Had some good rain yesterday and my local creek needs a couple of days to settle down. Going to shoot for Sunday and see if the pans want to cooperate!

Nice fish and glad to see you are getting out there. Sure that old Quick is ready for those gills!

Caught about 15 crappie during yesterday's session. Nearly all were very close to the bank. Some appeared to have their spawning colors on. I was using a 2 or 3" grub (probably too big for best bluegill action). I smaller cricket type plastic lure under a bobber yielded nothing. Swithing to the curly-tailed grub and swimming slowly got the action going.

Good luck this weekend. Going to be in the 80s here today and mid-70s over the weekend. The fishing should really begin to pick up.

Used a TM jig head and a small bug lure yesterday. Still caught some crappie but got into more gills.

Even a few small bass joined the party.

Switched up to a 1"Gulp Minnow on a drop shot and caught some more.

Warm temps and a full moon seem promising.
