    Default Private pond

A good friend of mine lives on the upper end of a neighborhood pond .
He’s always told me I didn’t need an invite , but I hadn’t seen him much this year due to Covid closing down our church services .
I called him this morning and asked if I could do some social distancing off his dock for a couple of hours .
He said I was welcome anytime.
I fished three rod/reel combos today , but all three had the same bait , a 1/80 black woolybooger jig , about two feet under a Mr Crappie weighted styrofoam float . I used the 3” long one to enable me to cover more water , since I was restricted to a single spot .
I sat on my fishing stool and fan cast for two hours .
Rods were , a 7’ Daiwa Procyon UL , a St Croix 6’6” light action Triumph , and last my 5’6” St Croix 4 piece UL travel rod .
I was interested in how much difference in casting was between the rods as well as accuracy.
The Procyon and the SC Triumph cast and fished very similar with my preference going to the SC Triumph which says it’s a light, fast , but fishes more like a moderate UL . More so than the Procyon. The Procyon is more of a light action .
I caught a dozen , eight bluegills, two shellcracker, a couple of LM Bass , one about a pound and half , gave me some drag singing runs on the SC Truimph and two pound line on my Daiwa Fuego 1000A .
    A few pics .

Picture of the sun on the pond .
Always reminds me of the Beatles song “ Lucy in Sky with Diamonds “

Forgot to mention. The high today was 64 degrees . A beautiful day to wet a line .

Nice! I love seeing these warmer water photos! I’m already looking forward to spring, and of course good bye to a really rotten 2020!
