fallen trees , big rocks ,docks, concrete retaining walls and other cover along a steep bank at the lake would be my first options,
and of course visual sightings of fish in shallow water creeks as well .
So after having a very successful fall fishing in a stocked pond, and a slightly successful fall fishing in a public pond, I've been struggling to find the fish now that all the vegetation has died off. What should I look for when I'm deciding on a spot? (I'm a bank angler)

I would imagine in CT the water is pretty dang cold right now. Look for banks that get good sun in the morning as these areas warm up a bit, especially if there is rock. In the evening look again for areas with good sun exposure. The fish will move to the most comfortable water.

A lot of areas where I fish have rocky shores, but, aside from the small rocks, don't have a ton of cover. Should I focus on cover or warmth during the winter?
