    Default Finally made it .

    Fishing ! Of course .
This afternoon I got a chance to slip off to the town pond .
There were several walkers , as I expected, but they kept their distance and I definitely did .
I’d slip on my mask if I saw someone coming down the walking path that surrounds the pond on three sides .
Started off fishing with a mini trout magnet in white and on my second cast, caught a small bluegill .
I fished around the pond stopping in my usual spots .
It wasn’t until I got all the way around to the far side that I caught a second . By this time , I’d tried a regular trout magnet in bison without any luck .
My second fish bit a hand tied microjig that I tie .
That turned out to be the lure of the day . I ended up catching eleven with these being two of the larger ones .
I spent a little over an hour and a half casting my float and jig using my 6’ St Croix Avid UL with a 500 size Shimano Sahara reel spooled with 2# line .
Fun afternoon for a winter day .
BTW the temps were in the mid 50’s with a front coming in tonight. It was Sunny this morning but by the time I went fishing it was cloudy .

    I use an orange , small 3/4” weighted styrofoam float . I think it’s 3/4” , it’s pretty small.
I use a long snap on weighted styrofoam weighted float for distance, usually with a 7’ rod . but the small round float is my go to .
