    Default Still fishing.

Putting the boat in the “Dead Lock” for the past 2 weeks or so has been futile. So I headed to a proven bank spot that usually holds tons of big crappie this time of year....but as of yet they are not in there in mass. I’ve had a few days of 50 bluegill...decent fish but could be a lot better. Landed some good KY bass also. Using the 6’ 2” Abu Garcia Diplomat Extreme UL Area Trout Rod with the 2.3# polyester line made these trips a whole lot of fun. Got about 2 weeks left to fish then will be unable to do so for 6 weeks...per doctor after spinal surgery. Hopefully this surgery will allow me to get back to what I have not done in years....wade fish for trout. If all goes well and it fixes my issues I could be back to fishing 5 days a week as in years past.

    Regards

looks like a good bank spot to me , hope you get back to wading for trout soon .
wading for trout is something that cant be described easily .
it is an experience that every fisher person must do .
euphoric might be the right term ....
i know the russian river in alaska was the best wading for trout in my book .
salmon sized rainbows really pump the blood ....
the arctic char on kodiak were possibly a runner up on the wading for trout ....
but to be sure a few other lower us spots i hit were very fun as well .
tiny brookies in little snow melt creeks are some smart tricky devils for sure .
hopefully you are back making the trout wish you werent soon my friend

Hope all goes very well with the surgery and that your health is restored and pain relieved. Very pretty fish. I love to catch a chunky bass every now and then when fishing for brim on the ultralights. Haven't gone wading for trout in years myself, but only due to family obligations and not health issues thankfully. The Little Red and Spring rivers in Arkansas await whenever I can get back to it. Went through all of my fly tying materials and found that poor storage in the garage has pretty much wiped them out over years of inactivity.

Randy, hoping for fast and successful recovery. There's no telling how many new rods and reels you'll end up with.

Best of success on your surgery. Many times I've wished I would have had my surgeries sooner because the relief and success made life so much better. Those pan fish will have time to grow and you can carefully go over your trout gear during rehab!
