    Default Leland TCB outing

Finally got and played with it today. I got it paired with a small president and 4# Trilene sensation hivis orange. I missed several fish completely then I started having them come off bout half way to the boat. Then I finally got in the groove. Man it's tough getting used to a shorter UL. I was using an 8' b&m double touch ml. After I got the hang of it I loved it. So much easier and balanced to fish. But man you gotta keep that line tight and get after it on the hook set. I had been used to a gentle sweep with the other rod.

Sounds like a nice setup, I have quite a few President reels, they are great reels for the money. I'll have to look for that orange line, sounds interesting.

What size hook? Were these Bluegills?

UL fish is different but can be very enjoyable. Wait until you get a bite from a big bass or catfish. Hold on!

Never fish an 8’ ul rod, that would be a big learning curve for me. Most of mine are 6’6” or less. Glad you had fun with it and figured it out.

That is a real nice combo CNG. I have the older version of the rod and love it. For me, the 20 President balances just right. Brought plenty of pans to hand in the creek this year!
