Default Things we take for granted ...

but shouldn't. This land went from private to state game lands and now back to private. Being developed for a industrial park. Tract contains this beautiful lake which is a good 20 minute walk into it. Loggers are set up a few hundred yards from the lake now and have been on both sides. I hope the development takes a few more years. Name: DSC00144.jpg

Nice fish, and beautiful pictures. If who owned it, parceled it to the state, then how the heck can the state then sell it to someone else?

Pretty fish....was the land a park...WMA? I am curious as to what status the state owned the land. In TN once the state owns it as part of a WMA....park....it stays that way. Years back TVA condemned a lot of land for a dam project.....the dam was built but never closed. The courts made them tear the dam down and there is not a trace of it now at all. TVA gave the land to the TWRA. We have several cities.....counties...that have lakes and have tried to give them to TWRA. The problem here is TWRA has no money to maintain the lakes if they took them....

    Regards

This tract was part of a state game lands which are referred to as WMA's (wildlife management areas) by some states. They were able to obtain the property by doing a land swap transfer. The game comm. received property in the same county in exchange for this tract. I think the other land was power company property. I may be biased, but I always considered this tract with the lake on it, to be the best piece of property on the whole gamelands. In Pa., the game and fish comm. are not combined. Who knows, if they were maybe this wouldn't have gone thru. The property they received was added to a existing game lands, but has a lot of public roads running thru it. I always thought that once property was gamelands, it would always remain that way. Like was said "enjoy each day".

Very sad day to see our natural resources squandered away! First I’ve ever heard of such a case but I guess each state is different! As already stated Enjoy while you can!
