    Default New combo

I’ve done some research and I just ordered a new rod and reel. I’m hoping it’s a good ultralight combo. Rod is a b n m Sam Heaton super sensitive 9’ and the reel is. Pfluger president model 20. Do you guys think that’s a decent combo or should I cancel? This rig is going to be for panfish only.....assuming it will only be panfish that eat what I am throwing.

You made a great choice. Can't beat either one reel or rod.

I love my 12 ft Sam Heaton, caught a 14lb channel cat with it this week. Had it doubled over

You'll be happy with it. Never fished the shss but a couple of my fishing buddies have them and they seem to fish real good. But I fish Pflueger and love them. I'm In the process of ordering a TCB.

That’s good to hear!! Thanks for the replies. Anyone have any experience with the garmin striker plus4cv? Looks like a good kayak rig.

That’s impressive, a 12’ pole that can take that abuse. I’ve got a 13’ carbon fiber “cane” pole but I think after at 14lber it might be significantly shorter lol

As to the Garmin Striker CV 4+, I have one and it does what it should. It's pretty clear. I also have a Lowrance Hook 4 on my new boat and they are very similar, the Garmin being a bit simpler for me to figure out.
I don't have much time playing with the Lowrance but I'm going to upgrade and one of those will probably go on the TM, probably the Garmin for the GPS and spot marking capability.

I just got a Pfluger president model 20 it's smaller than a size 1000 reel.It cast Fireline Crystal 2 lb braid very well,I'm happy with it for this line.Being that it's so small I would only use it with very small diameter line.
