Thanks for the input. I have tried lightweight braid in the past with out much luck. It always seems to wrap around my pole and knot up like crazy. If I get a snag or something and my jig comes flying back at me it just gets in such a tangled mess I can’t even sort it out I just have to cut the whole mess off and start over. Unless It’s just me.

Nice, I’m excited to get mine. Was also wondering what to run for line.. so many options. My current setup for pan fish is an uglystick crappie edition combo and it has served me well caught hundreds of fish on it but just wanted something a little nicer.

I don't have much time playing with the Lowrance but I'm going to upgrade and one of those will probably go on the TM, probably the Garmin for the GPS and spot marking capability.
easy to figure out, I like the sound of that. For the price and features the garmin is prolly the direction I’m headed.

it aint just you bro , braid is not a good thing to use no matter what your told .
i know this will start a war but to sure fact and fiction are totally different animals .
every problem you mentioned grows drastically when the heat is on as well .
wind and fish biting and braid becomes a fisher persons worst nightmare
and it cuts like a knife deep and hard ....you forgot that little gem

on a side note it is also real hard on your equipment , i hear it saw on guides during a hook set all the time .
seen it wear groves in some guides really fast on my buds rod .
sounds like a small version of pulling up an anchor over the side of the boat really fast

I anticipate those problems ahead of time, and try to prevent them the best I can. All for the advantages of extreme casting distance, sensitivity and strength.

glad I’m not the only one lol. It’s great when it’s great but for me at least it’s not worth the headache.

More power to you man it just isn’t for me, or I’m not for it how ever you want to look at it.

I stand by you too. I have wasted too much money and time to find the benefit of a braid line. too bad, they are really not for UL or fast action rods.
