    Nice job on that handle. Most likely is a more permanent finish since oil based. The U-40 is a water base product. I have used Tru-oil in the past on some oil finished gunstocks. Thanks for the info.

    I use several coats and buff it down with extra fine steel wool between coats. I usually do 4 coats and apply it with my middle finger. Easy to do.

    I've found the Magic Eraser good for cleaning cork. Then Minwax Poly Satin or Polycrylic flat. These coatings don't get too shiny and undo the natural look of the cork. Provides nice protection though.

    nice combo for sure , what are the bluegills hybridizing with in there might i ask ?
    some are hybrids no doubt , but back to what is my question ?
    does that spot have green sunfish in it ?

    You are correct. They are a bluegill/green sunfish cross. There are other ponds in this area where I have caught the green sunfish, but this particular beaver dam I have just caught hybrids. Nice lookers and fun to catch! Thanks.
