    Default I GOTTA ADMIT .....

I'm still sweet on these old girls after all these years. The pic of the muskrat taken from the beaver dam that they damaged earlier this spring. The odd looking thing in front of me is a tarp that someone placed to block a whirlpool under a log about 10 ft. out from bank. Thankfully, it is working. I have fished this beaver dam since the 60's.Name: DSC00122.jpg

Are those rods and reels from the 60s too? They look like antiques. It's awesome though that you still love what you do after all these years and have been doing it in the same spot too.

    ArthurLK11,
Thanks for the reply. The rods and reels are from the 60's-70's. I don't collect them, but have a half dozen or so old ones that were either mine or picked up along the way.

Hmmm. My 60's Mitchell 408 won't fit on a modern Fuji seat on my modern UL/l rods - the reel foot is too long and a bit wide. It fits on the old kinds of rods, like a Crappie Stix, Cherrywood, or Ugly Stick, but I prefer the new rods. Thinking of carefully grinding it to match a modern 1000-size Daiwa foot. Would you? I don't care about the "value" because I'll never sell it.
