6/0 uni thread and some crazy glue.Sent from my SM-G960U using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
Some 20 gauge brass wire and flat nosed pliers make these really quickly, easily and quite a bit cheaper than buying the pre made retainers.
I can knock out about 200 an hour for less that a penny a piece.
I lay a wrap bed of thread down first, then tie on the wire keeper and wrap completely over it. A couple drops of super glue to seal the threads and it’s done. I use a 70 denier UTC thread, not sure how that compares in size to other size nominations.
I can weigh it, but a 1/2 inch piece of this wire isn’t going to add anything worth noting.
They fit great. [emoji106]

Yes. First wrap on shaft and second and third wrap on keeper. Also do a couple of reverse wraps on the barb end to lock it good. Sent from my SM-G960U using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
Z-man is missing the boat, if they ever came out with a Trout Magnet clone, and tiny jig and wire keeper, you could probably catch 50 fish on one lure...Lol.
