Looks like you found a good spot and you didn't have to row far! Nice.

tell me more about this technique. Being a simple guy, I’m used to just letting a bobber sit till I get a bite.

No bobber, just the jig. There are weeds in this lake, the trick is to keep it just above the weeds. With as many bream as there are in this spot, they hit it before it gets on the bottom.

Parts to fix the old motor (new brush assy, and seals) are "out for delivery", and the new motor will be here Friday, so maybe I can get back out this afternoon and find some big 'uns.

I also stop using plain hooks for a while because of gut-hook! My go to worm drop shotting would be #14 size dry flies.

Too rainy to fish today, maybe tomorrow.

The old motor is fixed, and working, but I'm not sure how long it will last. NV sent the wrong parts - twice. I ended up using a couple MK parts; the NV seems to be a knock-off of MK anyway. The new motor should be here Friday. I'll use the old one as long as it will run, then use the new one. When it quits, I won't be buying another NV, no.
