We used every kind of cheap rod and line and jig you can imagine .
barbie poles all the way up to 20 dollar rods .

2 lb test to 8 lb test .
1/64 to 1/16 jigheads
number 8 and number 6 hooks .
canadian nightcrawlers
the outcome remained the same for the most part

Amen to that Ketchn! When somebody tries to tell me that someone's rod is superior one I use I become very suspicious of their motives.

Some rods are better than others. The rods you build are better than 99% of rods used on this site.

Better is in the eye of the beholder, though.

Pretty fish. Enjoy seeing the dishes you cook up. Every year I tell myself this is the year I am going to start keeping fish again.....maybe this will be the year......LOL.
