    Yep, the consensus seems to be that the Gulp minnow is the only one that seems to work.

    I'll add one more voice for the Gulp Alive 1 inch minnow. It's amazing how well these work.

    I use a #6 Octopus hook tied directly on the line 8 inches above a 1/8 oz drop shot weight. Work it
    slowly across the bottom. A friend of mine and I caught over 300 bluegill in one day fishing
    spawning beds this year. Chartreuse shad color is our favorite but other colors catch well too.

    Thanks Everyone who saved me $$ and time watching a still bobber (float-lol) with the gulp crickets.. I will picked up some Gulp 1 inch minnows and some micro craws...colors ? . Thanks for the hook suggestions too- that is big time tip seeing i usually use a 3/0 or 5/0......

    I would go with the natural color, but remember those aren't scented, so you need to keep it moving so the fish thinks it's alive.

    I would guess that you use a Palomar knot so the hook sticks straight out from the line....??. . . . How did the Farmer find his Wife ?? . . . . . . . . . He Tractor

    I used to do that with a Palomar knot. but I found out I got a lot better results when I attached the hook with an inch-and-a-half surgeon's Loop and let the hook dangle and swing freely out from the main line. I had a much better hookup ratio.

    Thanks Techno, Back to the Knot Blackboard to learn the Surgeon's loop. .. . For real Big Gills > Do I Use the Sturgeon's Loop ? wacky mood today......I was leaving for my morning walk and had Big Thunder & the skies open up for a 10 minute can't see downpour...lol > Sitting here waiting for steady rain to stop...maybe I will put on the old shoes and get the Golf umbrella and Just GO...
