    Default Reel grease

I have a few spinning reels that are dire need of cleaning and new grease. I need to purchase some more grease so thought I would ask what you all out there like. I have mostly used Penn in the past and corrosion X oil.

For the last 10 years I use just plain old white lithium. No issues.

The Ardent Reel Grease package is good. You get grease.....bearing oil.... and Reel Butter oil. It’s synthetic and is pretty good stuff for the price.

    Regards

I went with the Ardent as well. Seems to me to work great. The oil is like water - penetrates instantly.

Well definitely a lot of choices. Yamaha marine grease has peaked my interest. I actually have some in the shed might give it a try.

Lots of articles in support of it. I do add a bit of Corrosion X to thin it just a little. I can't think of his name but there was a well respected reel maintenance pro who advocated this combo after servicing many freshwater and saltwater reels. One cartridge of Yamalube will last most a lifetime. I can say based on experience with firearms in wet environments nothing will beat CorrosionX (both the regular and reel version) for keeping rust at bay. And I've tried many.

I use CorrosionX on my reel's bearings and swivel points all the time. And their sales reps are very informative and helpful too.
