    Default Fishing the TenRyu Lunakia.

Took out a rod today I don’t use very much. What a fine job it did! The TenRyu Lunakia 6’ 10” hybrid light game rod boated me about 2 dozen crappie....all at around or a little better than the 13 inch mark. In between the crappie caught quite a few 7-8 inch bluegill. Had the one very nice KY bass.....on the tackle I was using quite a battle to get that fish in.....2.3# ester monofilament lime....1.5 gram Daiwa Gekkabijin jig head with #8 hook.....and of course a Sow Bug colored Trout Magnet. Not a lot of UL type rods that can give you fun with bluegill......yet have the backbone to tangle with large fish. It is a most excellent crappie rod with just the right flex, and bite detection is off the charts. The crappie.....bluegill, and the one good KY bass I caught were all on the bottom. I only fished 3.5 hours....too hot for me to stay any longer. For those interested in seeing how the rod flexes with the crappie....bluegill.....and KY bass, I will get the video out next week. The Spot was flat diggin!

    Regards

Thanks for a great report Randy. I look forward to the video. Those crappies were some chunky bullies! Tenryu builds some fine rods for sure. I love my little Luna.

    Awesome day Randy!

i spent the evening below KY Lake dam today.

didn’t have quite the day you did, but did catch a giant drum and lost a 5+ smallmouth at the boat, as well got into a school of feeding white bass.

All on the 610 Lunakia... love this rod, wish I could love the finezza like the Luna, I just can’t get warmed up to it.

I do like the looks of the Lunakia, that handle interests me. Maybe a Christmas present? Good looking Crappie, they look liked they had shoulders!
