There may be some in the reel handle.

I purchased a Plueger President XT SP20 reel for one of my ultralight rods. I scanned the parts list and exploded diagram to save to my computer with my other reel diagrams. I was looking at the parts list and the diagram and it looks like there are only 4 bearings listed. But on the packaging and description online for this reel it states there are 7 bearings. False advertising or am I missing something (besides 3 bearings)?
There may be some in the reel handle.

Now you have me wondering too. Might have take mine apart and count them.

Yeah I guess they count all but not listed, 2 bearing on handle plus one way clutch as another bearing. Other manufacturers like Daiwa Tatula advertise 7 bearing system and detail as 6+1.
What these guys said.... One way clutch is a bearing, and there is probably 2 in the handle knob.
I seriously doubt there are any bearings in the handle knob on that reel.

In I_Fish's last video, Victor took apart a 25 dollar reel from China that advertised a high bearing count. He found 4 bearings in the handle, and stated it was a way for them to up their bearing count for advertising purposes. Not all bearings are created equal.

I watched that video..not to see the reel but to see what fish he caught....LOL. Many of the cheap....and midrange reels that are out of China are loaded with bearings...inferior cheap bearings. Been a number of years since I have owned a Pflueger but the bearings in them were of decent quality. I've been ordering high quality bearings for reel tuning for years. There are a lot of reels in the mid 200 dollar range that do not have any bearings in the knob on the handle. Better to have a good quality bushing in place of a cheap bearing. Those cheap bearings will rust real quick.

Yeah I don’t believe in bearing count on the reel either as long as there are important bearing like shaft support pinion support and spool support. Some of my reels come with handle knob bearing and a lot don’t. I don’t even care for that much. Now I’m waiting my new Daiwa Kage LT 2000 which have 10 bearing compare to 7 on Tatula (2 on the knob and 1 for spool support).
I've been curious about Kage model series of rods and reels for some time, so much so that I own two Kage bass rods, including a monster XH swimbait model rated to 11 oz. They have not seen much use, barely any actually, because I've strayed from bass fishing lately, but they are built using some of the better Daiwa technologies and the blanks seem awesome for the price point. I would expect the same from the reels and be curious to hear about your experience.
