    The Everglades and some of those canals were pretty scary before the introduction of non native species. Look at the size of some of the snakes that are seen and killed there. They eat EVERYTHING!

    Yup. I'm just hoping I don't come across any anacondas or pythons. I don't mind the gators, but I definitely don't want to see any 20 foot snakes while I'm fishing.

    Along with never catching a Peacock bass, I've never seen a python. Strange considering how far we go back in the glades.

    Consider yourself lucky. There are some monsters in there, and the big ones can take on almost anything. You probably catch some nice fish way back in. If you ever read the Doc Ford novels by Randy White he has one story taking place way back in the glades where he encounters some huge snakes. Getting a little off topic...sorry.
