TM's work great for crappie also....
Nice catches.....
How big are trout magnets (bodies) in relation to crappie magnets? I got one of their 96 piece starter packs (crappie magnets) and honestly, the hooks seemed too big for bluegills. We were getting a lot of "slaps" yesterday and couldn't hook anything until I went to a smaller hook (and bait).
TM bodies are much smaller than a CM....and CM hooks are not the best for catching bluegill. TM jig heads have a #8 hook. I don't use anything bigger than a #6 hook for bluegill...and most of the time it is a #8 and sometimes a #10. I know folks catch bluegill using a CM but that is certainly not the best way to go about it....and if you do use a CM for bluegill you certainly do not want to use the CM jig heads.
Regards
Any chance you have a photo of a CM and TM side by side?

Some nice catches. Hard to beat the Trout Magnet. Caught some crappie and gills on the pink and black one the other evening.
Nice job,
What do you mean by learned to load up and cast a ul better?
You mean matching gear. Or do you mean a technique used to actually cast the rod?
Thanks

I’m not sure if I would be the best to describe it. I’m still new with spinning in general.
He told me, I always do half whip on my cast and that cause me distance. He said it like golf swing, smooth the entire cast. The release point is important to. When I start load up and feel the lure tension/pulling the line that when I got the most distance. Before that I hardly feel any tension. I’m not sure this would help, maybe some other experts here can give you a better points.
